By using DogEpiMonitor, you expressly agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, you must refrain from using the application.
1 Data Controller
The controller of the personal data collected through DogEpiMonitor is Alejandro R. Di Russo, with domicile in Lomas del Mirador, Buenos Aires, Argentine Republic. To exercise your rights or make inquiries related to the protection of your personal data, you can contact us at contacto@dogepimonitor.com.
2 Applicable Legal Framework
The processing of personal data carried out by DogEpiMonitor complies with the provisions of the National Law No. 25,326 on Personal Data Protection of the Argentine Republic, its Regulatory Decree No. 1558/2001, and the complementary provisions issued by the Agency of Access to Public Information, the enforcement authority for personal data protection in Argentina.
3 Information We Collect
Registration and Account Information:
When creating an account, we collect your full name, email address, phone number (optional), country of residence, username, and password. Passwords are stored using cryptographic hash processes that make plain-text recovery impossible.
Pet Information:
Includes name of the animal, species, breed, age, weight, gender, photos, medical history, prior diagnoses, medications (name, dosage, frequency, and route of administration), detailed records of epileptic episodes (date, time, duration, features, triggering factors, post-ictal recovery), vet appointments, laboratory test results, and any other clinical information you choose to enter.
Multimedia Files:
The application allows uploading photos, videos, and documents related to your pets, such as images of the animal, videos of epileptic episodes, medical test scans, prescriptions, vaccination records, and other relevant documents.
Technical and Usage Information:
We automatically collect access dates and times, features used, usage frequency, navigation patterns, unique device identifier, device type, operating system and version, IP address, internet service provider, and approximate geolocation data derived from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location unless you explicitly enable this feature.
Subscription and Payment Information:
If you purchase a paid plan, we collect the purchased plan, start and renewal dates, payment history, and account status. Sensitive financial information (credit card, bank details) is processed exclusively by PayPal (acting as our secure payment processor) and is never stored directly by DogEpiMonitor.
Store Purchase Information:
If you purchase products in the merchandising store, we collect shipping information (name, postal address, contact phone number) and transaction details. Payment details are processed by PayPal.
4 How We Use Your Information
The collected information is used exclusively for the following legitimate purposes:
• Provide the service: Create and manage your account, store and organize information about your pets, generate reports and visualizations, provide analysis features, synchronize information across devices, and allow access to paid plan features.
• Artificial intelligence features: Process inquiries to the AI assistant, generate answers and informative recommendations (not medical advice), and improve the assistant's accuracy through aggregated and anonymized usage pattern analysis.
• Process commercial transactions: Manage subscriptions, process payments through PayPal, manage merchandising purchases, coordinate shipping with logistics providers, and issue invoice receipts when applicable.
• Improve experience: Analyze usage patterns to identify most-used features, detect technical issues, optimize performance, develop new features, and customize the user interface according to user preferences.
• Communicate with you: Send registration confirmations, medication reminders, subscription renewal alerts, notifications of legal term changes, purchase confirmations and shipping tracking, technical support replies, and necessary administrative communications.
• Comply with legal obligations: Respond to valid requests from competent authorities, prevent fraud, protect our legal rights, and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
5 Legal Basis for Processing
The processing of your personal data is based on: your express and informed consent granted upon registration; the execution of the service contract established by using the application; the legitimate interest of the Controller in improving the service and preventing misuse; and compliance with legal obligations enforceable on the Controller.
6 Storage and Security of Data
Personal data is stored on secure servers provided by Firebase (Google Cloud Platform), which implement physical, technical, and administrative security measures according to international industry standards.
We implement multiple protection layers: encryption of data in transit using SSL/TLS protocols; encryption of data at rest; secure user authentication; role-based access controls; continuous monitoring for suspicious activities; periodic backups; protection against cyber attacks; and regular security audits.
No storage or internet transmission system is completely secure. In case of detecting a security breach that affects your personal data, we commit to notifying you in accordance with current regulations.
Personal data will be kept while your account remains active and for the additional period required by legal retention obligations. Multimedia files (photos and videos) are kept for a period of 6 (six) months from their upload date; after this period, they will be deleted automatically from the system. The user will be notified prior to automatic deletion and can extend the retention period by purchasing the Retention Pack available in the application. Text records (seizure data, medication, clinical events) are kept without time limit while the account remains active.
Upon requesting account deletion, all personal data, pet medical records, multimedia files, and messages are immediately and permanently deleted. This action is irreversible. DogEpiMonitor does not keep individual backup copies once the deletion is executed, except for information we must keep by legal mandate.
7 Sharing Information with Third Parties
DogEpiMonitor does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We may share your information under the following strictly limited circumstances:
• With technology service providers: Firebase/Google Cloud Platform (hosting and storage), PayPal (payment processing), email and push notification sending services, and usage analysis services. These providers have access only to the extent necessary to perform their functions and are contractually obligated to protect your information.
• With logistics providers: When you purchase products in the merchandising shop, we share only the shipping information necessary to coordinate delivery (name, postal address, contact phone number).
• With government or judicial authorities: When there is a valid legal request, a court order, or when necessary to comply with current legislation, protect rights and safety, or prevent fraudulent or illegal activities.
• In case of corporate transaction: (merger, acquisition, asset sale), your information may be transferred to the new owner, who will be obligated to respect this Privacy Policy or notify you of any changes in advance.
8 Your Rights as a Data Subject
Under Argentine law, you have the following rights:

9 International Data Transfers
Some technological service providers are located outside the Argentine Republic, which implies that your personal data may be transferred and stored on servers located in other countries. We ensure that such transfers are made only to countries with adequate protection levels according to the Agency of Access to Public Information, or that appropriate safeguards are implemented through standard contractual clauses.
Specifically, Firebase/Google Cloud Platform may store data on servers located in the United States and other countries. PayPal processes payment information on servers located in the United States under secure PCI-DSS standards.
